Has it really been that long...

since we did a post?? Really time fly's when you're having fun doesn't it? I'll try to fill in some gaps with what's been happening 'thru the red door....' Back in September we attended the launch of the new Bernina 7 series in Melbourne....

what a fun day that was, the theme was 7th Heaven so we were all given wings to wear...

Sue, Cathy (our Bernina lady :o) and me..

how cool is this....wouldn't you love to have a naked machine, I know I would..
We have both the 710 & 750 on display and in stock, they're not naked but they are awesome machines..  ;o)

We've had some really lovely classes this year and they are winding down for the end of the year, a couple of weeks ago Jan Preston took her last Creative Imagery class for the year. They were doing printing on fabric and as it was such a lovely spring day they took all their accoutrements into the side garden under the Elm tree. When I wandered out there later in the day to see what was being created.....

...it was afternoon tea time!! Don't Jan and Denise look right at home sitting out under the tree with their washing on the line.. ;o)

We had a great class today with Kerrie Gillespie..

lots of lovely ladies working hard..

everyone concentrating on painting their panels...

how gorgeous is this Civil War Poppies quilt? We have all of Kerrie's patterns in the shop, they are just so lovely and so much fun too....

As you can imagine, we've had lots and lots of lovely new fabric arrive since I last posted here, much too much to do a catch up but this has caused quite a bit of excitement..

We now have a range of Sue Spargo patterns, books, wools, velvets and threads...Back at the beginning of September Sue and I had a little trip to The Quilted Crow in Hobart and took a weekend workshop with Sue Spargo. She is such a lovely, talented and generous lady and we had a great time. Sue (Spargo) suggested that we should teach her Flowerbed quilt in the shop...

so we've decided that next year we will run a once a month class starting around late Jan early Feb and teach it as a block of the month.. using these gorgeous Sue Spargo wools, velvets and a smattering of lovely embellishments. We've been stitching away so that we will have some sample blocks to show, I bet you'd love to have a sneak peek wouldn't you? Alright then, just this once..  :o)

They're only six and a half inch blocks so very doable, lots of fun, bright and colourful. If you'd like to join us give Sue a ring on 03 5368 2995 or shoot off an email to sales@millrosecottage.com.au

That's it for tonight, I've already lost this post once...just disappeared off the face of the planet, don't quite know what happened so this is the second post I've done tonight, if you see it floating around anywhere would you mind sending it back...took me ages to write it all twice...
